Excel in the Maths classroom

A free half-day workshop exploring ways in which Excel can be used to enhance teaching of Mathematics.

Learning Goals:

•  Practical strategies for analysing problem-solving experiences in mathematics
•  The ability to create ideas (conjectures), work on them, and try to prove or disprove them using Microsoft Excel
•  An experience that simulates mathematical research

AiTSL standards addressed in this workshop:

2.1.2 Proficient Standard – Content and teaching strategies of the teaching area
3.6.3 Highly Accomplished Standard – Evaluate and improve teaching programs
6.2.2 Proficient Standard – Engage in professional learning and improve practice
6.3.3 Highly Accomplished Standard – Engage with colleagues and improve practice

Other details:

Morning Tea either by own arrangement or a gold coin donation for tea, coffee and biscuits. Lunch by own arrangements. Numerous cafes nearby.
